Have you heard of ‘Kinetic Poetry’? Neither had most of Perthshire Writers when one of our members, Julie Close, shared the video below. Kinetic poetry is described as a dynamic, often digital form of literature where rather than the classic printed text of a poem, digital techniques are used such that the text moves, changes shape, or interacts with the viewer to create an immersive experience. In the view of those who watched Julie’s kinetic poem, it added a fascinating extra dimension to her work with verbal, aural and visual elements emphasising and bring the text to life.
